GLOSSARY
FDD Item 19
Item 19 is the optional section where a franchisor discloses how much its outlets actually earn — a Financial Performance Representation.
Item 19 is the only place a franchisor may legally state earnings figures, and it is voluntary: a brand can choose to leave it blank. When present, it shows average or median sales (sometimes profit) for existing outlets, with the methodology.
A missing Item 19 is not automatically a red flag, but a present, detailed one is a sign of confidence. We flag whether each brand discloses an Item 19.
